The Strong assessment measures interests in four main categories of scales:

• General Occupational Themes
• Basic Interest Scales
• Personal Style Scales
• Occupational Scales

6 General Occupational Themes measure basic categories of occupational interests: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional.

30 Basic Interest Scales measure clusters of interest related to the General Occupational Themes in areas such as Athletics, Science, Performing Arts, and Sales.

5 Personality Style Scales measure: Work Style, Learning Environment, Leadership Style, Risk Taking, and Team Orientation.

Occupational Scales: measure the extent to which your interests are similar to the interests of people of the same gender working in diverse occupations.
